Music The "Song
of the Church"
There are many ways to participate in the Song of the
Church. As a worshipper in the pew, it may be singing the hymns with gusto. Or
maybe it's suddenly realizing you are humming the tune of the anthem you heard
last Sunday or of the closing hymn. It can also be helping to muscle some loud
speakers around for a special music event or being part of the Techie Guild
(help run the Audio-Visual equipment on Sunday or Wednesday). Listed below are
also the more formal musical opportunities for you to help lead the Song.
Sanctuary Choir
A mixed
voice choir which rehearses weekly. Typically
considered an "adult" choir, high school age
singers are also welcome. Rehearsal is
from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays during the
"school year". For parents with young children,
child care is provided.
Men's Chorus
The
chorus sings a broad variety of music. The
chorus was initially started to provide a
singing opportunity for men not able to rehearse
mid-week with the Sanctuary Choir. Rehearsal is
9:30 to10:20 on Sunday morning, between the
early and late worship service.
Praise Band - "Wing and a Prayer"
The band is the
primary music source for our Wednesday night
services. They are a great sounding group that
can "let it all out," be as contemplative as a
soft cathedral organ, or anyplace in between and
they bring you right with them. They are always
looking for additional talent, both vocal and
instrumental. Call the Church Office or

Bell Choir
The choir is recently reorganized. The bells have
a three octave capability. Rehearsal times for
the Fall have not yet been determined.

Special Musicians
Advent provides a diverse musical
worship environment which welcomes the addition
of special musicians and the unique talents they
bring. Instrumentalists or individual
vocalists - are all welcome and encouraged to
