July, 2010, Pastor Katy and Dylan King traveled to Rwanda with the Sierra Pacific Synod Youth Committee (SPSYC). The group of 25 visited with Lutheran pastors, leaders, youth and children; they visited the Rwamagana Lutheran School and worked alongside the students and teachers as they helped with work on the new school site. They also sang, danced, ate and sang with the students, teachers and members of the Rwamagana Lutheran Church.

On the day spent visiting parishes, Dylan and Pastor Katy (along with Amanda and Dominique from Oakland) visited Matimba Parish - there was a celebration and welcome at the church, with singing, dancing, and the exchange of gifts. They made home visits to parishioners and ate several fine meals with Pr. Ruhinda and his family. They were blessed with the hospitality of Pr. Ruhinda's household and enjoyed the short time that was spent there. Some pictures from their visit are below.
