ADVENT LUTHERAN CHURCH

“With joy and thanksgiving we commit Advent Lutheran Church to be the Welcome Place, where through God's Grace, we Gather, Forgive, Grow, and Care."
ADULTS

Adults
From educational to social - we've got something for you!

Sunday School
Classes meet from 9: 30 - 10:30 am from mid-September to mid-May. See our Current Class Offerings page for more this year's class topics. We also hold several all church events during the year, including a Festival of the Palms on Palm Sunday and an End of Sunday School Celebration.

Wednesday STEPS
From mid September to mid May we offer an opportunity for families to gather for mid week activities. Dinner is offered at 5:30 pm, followed by classes for all ages from 6:15 - 7 pm. (We have a neat "cow" theme.) A family friendly, contemporary worship with a band, communion and a message to help in everyday life, ends the evening. (The worship changes pace during Advent and Lent.)

The Pasture: The Adults meet for workshops and Bible Studies

(See the Teens/Youth and Children pages for more classes...)

Book Clubs

A.B.C. (Advent Book Club)
This is our fiction book club. Book selections are made by the group upon the recommendation of someone who has read something they enjoyed and want to share with the group. Books are chosen to meet a variety of interests. Join the discussion or just come for the fun on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Friendship Hall.

Advent History Book Club
This is our non-fiction book club. Book selections are Christian topics of a scholarly nature and often form the basis of upcoming adult education classes. We read approximately 100 pages for our meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Friendship Hall.

Stretch your mind, grow your spirit - join the History Book Club!

WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America)
All women are welcome to join our Quilting "circle" or the two "circles" which meet for Bible Study. They did deeper into Scripture, become more knowledgeable about Lutheran teachings, grow in faith and connect with other women. The sessions usually inform, challenge, provoke thought and conversation, offer comfort and encouragement, and help us live out our faith in our communities and the world. The women also meet for seminars, a Christmas program and a Mother-Daughter event in the spring. Call the church at 966-7242 for more information.
